Teaching Methodology
Teaching Principles at Mahatma Vidyalaya:
Concept-Based Instruction
Complex ideas are simplified using stories, demonstrations, models, and digital tools.
Interactive Classrooms
Students engage in discussions, questioning, and collaborative activities.
Smart Class Integration
Visual explanations help students understand and remember lessons effectively.
Skill-Based Learning
Communication, reasoning, creativity, and leadership skills are nurtured.
Child-Friendly Environment
Teachers encourage participation, curiosity, and confidence without fear.
Regular Assessments
Students receive timely feedback to help them improve continuously.
Play-way & Activity-Based Learning
Young learners grasp ideas best when they experience learning through play and activities. This is why Mahatma Vidyalaya integrates play-way and hands-on learning at all levels.
Highlights of Activity-Based Learning
- Learning with Real Objects : For example, a real apple is used to teach colour, taste, and health benefits.
- Roleplay & Simulation: Enhances imagination, communication, and confidence.
- Art, Music & Movement: Encourage creativity, rhythm, and expression.
- Outdoor Learning: Children learn through nature walks, observations, and physical activities.
- Group Projects: Build teamwork, responsibility, and cooperation.
This joyful learning approach ensures students understand concepts deeply rather than just memorising them.
Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE)
We follow the CCE system, which evaluates students regularly on both academics and holistic development.
CCE Includes
- Formative Assessments (Classwork, oral activities, worksheets, projects)
- Summative Assessments (Term exams)
- Evaluation of behaviour, discipline, communication, and participation
- Individual progress tracking throughout the year
CCE ensures that learning is consistent, stress-free, and meaningful, highlighting each child’s strengths and identifying areas of improvement.
